How to Measure Your Equine Partner for a Parelli Halter or Hackamore

  1. Use a Savvy String to measure the circumference of the muzzle one inch below the cheek Measure three times and compute the average.
  2. Find your measurement on the chart
  3. If the measurement is on the cusp of two sizes, consider going with the larger of the two
  4. Use a Savvy String to measure the circumference of the Measure three times and compute the average.

  7. Note: The throatlatch is adjustable downward from the high number listed on the chart, the muzzle size is not
  8. Examples:
    1. Muzzle-­‐21 inches / Throatlatch-­‐40 inches = Regular
    2. Muzzle-­‐14 inches / Throatlatch-­‐35 inches = Arabian
    3. Muzzle-­‐65 centimeters / Throatlatch 103 centimeters = Draft
    4. Muzzle-­‐44 centimeters / Throatlatch 83 centimeters = Arabian
